2026-08-27 (Th) EleKSCo REV05 Tapping and mounting

I carried my tap set back from the storage locker when my prints were finished. I hoped I could tap the plastic in the back of my butt cap to get traction when I inserted an M6 bolt, and it worked well. I made the mistake of starting with a combo bit that drilled out the unwanted support material in the bolt hole, but nicked some of the petals. I mostly recovered, but encountered a different problem. When I inserted a bolt, the threads bit into the inside of the petals and bored them out instead of expanding them. There was some expansion, but it did not work as intended. The battery holder was a different story, and it was a huge success. When I tapped the hole to M8, my chosen plugs threaded in perfectly! I was surprised that the metal was cut to a standard type, and delighted. I assembled the power receiver plate, battery holder, and butt cap, and it all held together wonderfully. The butt cap was secure enough for light play, but another REV should make it very rugged. The battery holder locked into the power receiver cleanly. The power receiver never budged.
