I don’t just keep a shopping list, I keep five shopping lists. Groceries, Housewares, Hardware, Internet and Long Term. They are categorized by where I will find the items because I don’t want to have to see “#4-40 Bolt 1-1/2”” when I’m grocery shopping and I don’t want to see “bread, milk, and peanut butter” when I’m at the hardware store.

Two things that were recently on my list were a rice cooker and a lazySusan. I couldn’t find a rice cooker so I bought a hot plate from a department store so I could really test out my sous vide oven. I took a cheap piece of frozen fish and it turned into the most tender piece of fish I had ever had. Very impressed. My mom asked if I would make her a sous vide oven and if I can get similar results with fish again I will begin construction for her.

While talking with my mom she gave me a lazy Susan which she wasn’t using. The purpose was to get more of the rotation shots I like so much. The spinning Arduino with bolts in this post was taken on the lazy Susan. Thanks mom!

Three #4-40 bolts and nine #4-40 nuts were purchased from a hardware store. The placement of the pie tin holes was tested by placing the Arduino over the holes. A light was shone from below to exemplify the alignment. The #4-40 bolts were inserted into the Arduino from the top and nuts were tightened to hold in place. An additional nut was put on approximately 1/8” up the bolt then the bolts were inserted into the pit in holes and more nuts were tightened from the bottom to hold the Arduino firmly in place.

The heating element was wrapped in the insulating plastic again and inserted into the hot glue gun nozzle. A plastic tie was put around the wire and through the pie tin hanger hole to keep it in place.

New wheels, 53mm skate wheels, and 5/16” bolts were selected to act as a two wheel tensioning system.
