A DC gear-motor from the surplus store became the focus of the project. The same H-bridge module connected and a program was sketched to recognize an analog input to alter the speed. The rotation direction was changed by adding or removing a jumper wire.

There was enough power in the DC motor to drive the small cylinder at its narrowest point which meant this was the fastest it would turn and seemed like this would be much faster than reasonable gameplay would need to rotate. Braking at this speed was not promising. There is no animation to show, but when the driving wheel was pressed against the wide portion of the PVC, the turning rate was closer to what I would expect in gameplay and when the motor was disengaged, the cylinder stopped turning too.

Since the cylinder being tested would have less mass than the last prototype, a design for a double-motor was sketched. This version would use two identical motors driven in parallel from the driver board. This should double the power and traction.
