2019-12-26 (Th) MIDIGlocken

All of the modified picture hangers at the ends of the keys needed fixing. Some of them felt like they were sturdy, but three of them peeled off easily and probably would have failed before long. One of the hangers had to be heated with a lighter to release the glue, so if I discover the trick to making glue stick that well all the time, I may have more uses in the future.

An automatic center punch scored the hangers before I put a 5/64" (2mm) hole there. I continued this hole into the plastic levers. Before mounting, I enlarged the hanger hole, so a #4 bolt would pass through. Eight hangers were remounted at the ends of the glockenspiel's keys with screws this time. I considered using aluminum screws for their reduced weight, but I found steel screws first.
