Spider Silk, Spider Silk, Made Using a Strain of Yeast
I sat on this video for almost a month. There was no good reason; I just didn't have the ambition to write. The subject matter was fantastic, though. Justin Atkin of The Thought Emporium has been working on genetically modifying yeast to produce spider silk for more than a decade. He finally achieved success and made a thirty-minute video where he described the significant steps, potholes, and roadblocks on the way.
