Chapter four gets into some privacy issues. Ness and Marigold decide to actively spy on Jerry to check that he is not mentally deranged. We also see some of how Marigold struggles with understanding human behavior.
Some of the mystery surrounding Marigold gets uncovered as we see how she is comfortable running espionage-level software from a kid's toy. Her personality is also unfolding, and the first hint of pride peeks out when she asks Ness to use the name the children picked.
