2021-01-06 (W) Electronic Wind Chimes EWC_OST

I copied my code from the EWC_Presenter project since it had all the MIDI protocol functions, pseudo-random tone generation, and the start of "moods." With the Arduino MEGA, I had a hardware serial port, so I didn't have to use the SoftwareSerial library anymore. I couldn't get any sound after the code upload. I started by running a 3.3V line to the soundcard, but that help. My code had a diagnostic tool that would print to the serial port when I generated music notes, and the code thought it was outputting good data.

To check all the possibilities, I connected a speaker to the amplifier output, headphones to the line-out socket, and a MIDI synthesizer on the data port. Nothing. When I looked at my Arduino, I saw that my serial data, which controls EVERYTHING, was in the wrong location. As soon as I moved the pin over, all my speakers worked at the same time. My data port was controlling the onboard and external synthesizers. My amplifier was driving a bookshelf speaker. I was delighted.
