The first part of Charged: DesertIrish has been revised. At
least, the first pass was done. Another pass will probably happen soon since everything
is fresh. For the second pass the story will be read aloud. Reading aloud was a
technique learned in creative writing classes to find awkward wording which
doesn’t always get caught when reading silently. As mentioned before that
technique is not used for this journal which is written quickly. Sadly it isn’t
proof-read most of the time.
To do:
Today’s word count: 0 - 0 = 0 words
Total word count: 27 240 + 60 228 + 83 897 = 171 365 words

24 000 words were in the first part and that number didn’t change
much. This pass of revisions was to remove some earlier mistakes and improve
continuity. Liz, was referred to as Elizabeth or Lizzy before. This was changed
so she was referred as Lizzy most of the time but in the next part of the book
her name, as her personality, matures and she will go by Liz most of the time.
This revision was easier to read and wording flowed better
than the previous draft.
Charged
To do:
Continue revising part 1- Read part 1 out loud to find errors
- Show how Shana knew Motor and Heather were a new couple.
- Reduce overuse of the word "power."
- Describe a reality TV show which demonstrates the powers of contestants.
- Describe a trial where a Charged person sues for the right to have a second identity but the case turns against him into a vilification of vigilantism.
