Clearing the Air about Proprietary Consumables with a Xiaomi Filter DRM Resetter
I used to own a 3D printer that only accepted the manufacturer's filament, and I admitted that it was a cost of printing. I knew there were hacks to use off-brand plastic, but it didn't seem like it was worth the hassle since it all worked. One day, my printer wouldn't recognize a legitimate cartridge, and I hacked that sucker. This person followed the same mentality, as I'm sure many hackers do, and retrofitted a device to accept all refills. In this case, an air filter believes it was just replenished every time it starts.
