I asked my partner to marry me. I struggled with how to do it for a long time. I don't think she wanted anything flashy or showy. I made her a bookmark from a piece of 65lb "Honeycomb" paper and folded the top into a triangle, then made holes with an ordinary paper punch. I threaded it with some kite string I used ages ago for making a bowstring. The long tassel looped through a box with a family heirloom ring. I wrote the letters with an industrial Sharpie and added a little color with some porous tip markers. I think she appreciated the DIY flare, and even if she didn't, she still said, "Yes."
