2022-10-22 (Sa) BackPackPower Battery test

I connected a battery and promptly saw smoke. Fortunately, I removed the battery before I started a fire. My DC/DC converter was reversed, but that hefty unit didn't seem harmed. The battery may be damaged, though when I corrected the wiring, my inverter and the converter both worked properly. When I tested the battery that suffered the short, the inverter reported a low voltage.
Testing electrical

To create standoffs, I added 1/4-20 bolts and coupling nuts to the top and bottom plates. Three sides won't have walls, and the fourth will be where I mount the controls. I adjusted the spacers as best I could, but I had to carefully trim some threaded rod pieces so my switch panel holes lined up with the corner braces.
