Apps like IFTTT are great for many phone automation, but some games do not want players skipping the grind. Pokémon GO will not accept input from a mouse, and iPhones barely even use pointers. I wanted to cut out tedious activities and make a device that could legitimately use the touch screen on any phone.

The solution I settled on was a two-servo design with minimal controls. I considered making it a full-fledged project with a small keyboard and screen, but I reined in the scope and narrowed it down to two potentiometers, seven buttons, and a light ring. I could have done with fewer buttons, but I can expand the functionality later.

I measured my phone and the other components I did not have footprints for, like an oversized arcade button that fits neatly inside my light ring and SG90 servo motors. I estimated the control arm lengths and made a simple and complex set that I hoped would be lightweight and sturdy. The arms will move a component that simulates a touch when I apply electricity. I do not know what to call this part that I took from a phone auto-clicker.

I arranged six buttons in an up/down/left/right/center with an extra below because a row of four buttons would be helpful. The seventh button is a large arcade button that I put in the middle of the light ring and should be the primary action button. There are two potentiometers vital to mapping on-screen locations with the servos.
