2023-05-14 (Su) Grindfest2023 Electric knife upgrades COMPLETE

Refurbishing the knives was more work than I anticipated. I cut some blade templates in plywood to have a reusable way to cut more conductors. Last year, the blades held on, but I replaced all the worn aluminum tape. I stretched a strip of tape on a cutting mat and traced the template's contour with a fresh scalpel.

I drilled three-millimeter holes in the handle to install the caps, but I misjudged the location a few times, so some of the holes had to be cut twice. I should have made a jig on the laser when I cut the caps. All the repairs and cleaning are done, and the knives are ready for this year.
