Smart Sphere Or Magnetic Magic
It has been almost a year since I wrote a Hackaday article, and it felt nice to get another published. I picked a desktop bauble that created the illusion of a line-following robot, but instead of a wheeled bot, it used a steel ball bearing. The unit is rechargeable from an inductive base, so it is possible to pick up the track, and the ball keeps moving.
