2023-11-24 (F) Weekly Summary

I fixed my operator settings by correcting the wiring, renumbering the inputs, and swapping the colored caps. The MIDI port also needed a couple of wires switched, but my tester showed green after the fix.
Green means good MIDI signal

I modified my code to update internal values on encoder changes. However, I started missing numbers when I twisted the knob quickly. I fixed it by comparing previous values and adding the difference so quick turns resulted in accurate values.
Encoders = Operational

I considered buying colored encoder knobs but made my own by trimming tape strips with a scalpel. The encoders and potentiometers were displayed on the wrong side of the screen, but I fixed it by modifying some text strings and discovering a few lines in the wrong order. The first two modes are now functional.
The first two modes are working

I improved mode2 by rearranging columns and moving the instrument names to avoid blocking text. Encoders had some unwanted behavior, and I spent a long time figuring out the problem. The issue was the code comparing numbers that were not equivalent, so I updated them and got mode3 functional.
All the trouble in mode2 came from these lines

I fixed the button assignments and listed all the issues with mode3, then went through them laboriously, switching where text and numbers appeared. I reassigned all the encoders and potentiometers to match the new operators.
Percussion screen

I listed and fixed my issues with mode4, which generated eight tracks even if I selected just one so I could add them at will. I corrected my misplaced screen values, encoders and potentiometer assignements, and excesssive volume. I also fixed a bug that let me change tracks into negative and beyond eight. Now mode4 is operational.
