Tim and I recorded episode 039 which was all about the effects of brain games. These were trendy in 2006 but they were largely discredited when studies failed to show that they had any effect on the brain other than making the players better at the mini-games. Too bad, the games were kind of fun and it was easy to show improvement in the high-score list but without any genuine benefit, they weren't valuable except as a time-suck.
Since these studies, another type of exercise, not much of a game, came out which could actually boost working memory in the brain. The RAM of our brains.
