2021-08-16 (M) 24EngSilentKeyboard COMPLETED

We are in the home stretch for the 24EngSilentKeyboard. One difficulty I ran into was keeping everything inside the case motionless. If anything rattled, it would introduce noise. I added a spongey liner under the microcontroller, which didn't need much buffering. The keypad required more help, so I picked some nylon standoffs from my stock. Everything sits snuggly now.

I had the top and bottom of the enclosure, but I needed to seal it up. When I cured the base, I put four nuts in the feet so the plastic would harden around them. I don't know if it helped, but it was probably easier to push them into soft material. By a happy coincidence, I had some elastic feet the same diameter, so I added those for traction and sound dampening.

There were a couple of issues connecting to my recording computer. I received interference and unwanted button presses, but it fixed itself when I routed through a powered USB hub. The next issue was easy. My laptop runs Linux, which plays nicely with my mic adapter, but the command for "Redo" is different than Windows, so I changed the sketch.

All my files are on GitHub.
