2022-02-16 (W) RemoteFinishLine Dedicated computer

I need the laser cutter to make a custom enclosure, and I've been fighting with it for a couple of days. I can't cut through the current slab of plywood. If I can't find a solution, I'll have to order an enclosure. Since cutting ties up my usual computer, I moved an old laptop in to replace it.

I thought I had a fresh copy of Windows on a solid-state drive, but I locked myself out with a forgotten password. Next, I grabbed an unlabeled unit with Kali Linux that belonged to my fiance. I reset the password in the first SSD and discerned that IT discarded this computer because it would spontaneously freeze up. When I swapped that out, I started downloading and installing software, but that's where I stopped for the evening.
