The day came to give my Documentation Talk. My host assured me the internet was robust, the AV setup was impeccable, and the room would be comfortable. The room was comfortable, but everything else was a mess. The biggest problem was the unreliable internet because I could not display the slides on my computer or see my Speaker Notes on my phone. I realized the internet was spotty before the talk, and I copied all my notes into a bunch of notepad.exe tabs on my laptop. The talk went well, and someone commented that they wished they were as capable of continuing a lecture in the face of overwhelming problems, which I took as the highest compliment.
