2025-05-21 (W) JimmyBadge Concept and spring-loaded design

Someone keeps locking the common-area bathroom in my apartment complex and I need a faster way to open the door than filing a report with the office and waiting a few days for maintenance. I ordered a pocket-sized door jimmy and that works, but it is suspicious to carry openly. I ran through some ideas and settled on cutting wooden slats to go on either side and engraving designs on the outside.

I thought this would be a fun piece of SWAG for Grindfest 2025 and I could even engrave people's names on one side. Since I would have to make many iterations, I could not settle on an expensive or laborious method. My fiancée suggested using clips to hold the pieces together and I found miniature clothespins at the dollar store. The design should fully cover the door jimmy and incorporate the torsion springs from the clothespins.
