I checked the new laser modules, and they were a lot shorter than the previous version. The units would slide deep into the sockets, which was not a problem for laser performance, but it used more printer resin than necessary. When I shortened the unit's length, the screw holes were so close that the caps would have overlapped. I considered placing a screw on the other side of the LED, but I decided that when the laser was below a certain length, it would rotate the holes from a column to a row. I printed a pair with one mirrored.
