2025-06-27 (F) Weekly Summary

I reworked the bottom plug to include a hexagonal portion for turning the bolt and a square hole, allowing it to be coupled with a carriage bolt. I spent extra time making the piece slightly rounded, and I was delighted that it turned out so well.

I modeled a front grip and made it thick so I could add a keyboard switch. I have many keyswitches with different characteristics, but I was something with high pressure and tactile feedback.
All the current parts related to the handle

I modeled the back grip by copying the front grip, removing the keyswitch socket, raising the ridge, and making it thinner. The trigger was a simple blocky design that I could print and check for improvements.

I drilled and tapped two steel handles and installed front and back grips. The heft and sturdiness were remarkable, but the trigger and front grip needed work to become durable enough for play.

I modified the front grip to include a channel for the trigger, which should keep it from being knocked off. I added channels through the top plug and internal washer block so I could run wires from the switch to the tagger's inside.

We talked about Steven Universe as our final media for Pride Month. We agreed that the LGBTQIA+ themes were so expertly woven into the story that they never felt clunky or forced. Nicely done!
