2025-10-04 (Sa) BonfireLaserTag Switches in NERF gun

I knew that putting electrical switches into the NERF guns was going to be a challenge, but they also built their toys well. I loosened two dozen screws on the side of my toy, and all the innards stayed in place. The trigger was part of a long plastic rod that went to the gun's butt. I looked for a spot to add switches and found one right behind the trigger pad and at the back. I weighed the options of both places and decided to install two switches in parallel, so if one fails open, the other should compensate. I had to use a wad of hot glue behind the trigger, where I placed a 12x12mm tactile switch, and the rear got a 6x6mm tactile switch. There was less interior space than I expected, so I installed a headphone socket instead of trying to run wires through the inside.
