Combining the infrared receivers and screens was more work than I anticipated, which is becoming a theme with this project phase. I soldered the power IR receivers to the screen's Vcc and GND, but the GND terminal, which had been troublesome when I extracted the ground wire, was just as bad now because I had trouble getting the solder to adhere properly. The answer was more solder and way more flux. I remembered to bridge the voltage-selection pads on the back of the screen so everything would work with 3.3V. Two of my screen mounts were different, and I could not install the infrared receivers because the screen's PCB was in the way. I cannot remember whether they used an old model or if I updated it and broke something. I have to remodel several things before I can install the last two screen holders. For the three that fit, I labeled each wire with permanent markers so I could easily identify them when I install the microcontrollers.
