A friend wanted Zener-style cards that someone could identify from the back by sensing internal metal strips with an implanted magnet. His magnet was stronger than mine, so I opted to make a version with magnets. I also changed the arrangement so there would be a magnet at a specific angle from the center, whereas he put metal strips along the edge of the card.

My printer was running nonstop, and I was curing many prints, but I did not appreciate looking at the bright UV lamp, so I wrapped a shelf with reflective material and made a UV curing chamber. The shelf was part of a lamp, so I tapped off its power, and I could switch the UV light with the lamp, which acts as an indicator so I do not overdo the curing.

My fiancée and I wanted a low-impact way to recognize the passage of time, so she suggested an analog clock that changes colors as the hour advances. This design replaces the minute hand with a whole-face representation of the hour, enhancing visibility. We will collaborate on a wireless interface, with her learning to build a web page or mobile app and me providing the hardware.
First sketches

I drafted my design in QCAD based on a light strip I had. The one-meter strip had sixty lights, which was perfect for a large clock with one-minute increments.

I cut the first round of pieces on the laser. I added wider circular portions to block the light coming directly off the LEDs. The purpose is to point the lights inward where they can reflect on the face and light it instead of pointing directly at the user.
Enough parts to get me started

My friend hosted a weekly videocast where people talked candidly about popular media. She invited me to the show discussing Agatha All Along, which I watched a few months ago when it premiered. We had a blast talking about how we enjoyed it and the things we did not like.
