I searched for an Arduino menu-creation option and found TcMenu. The premise is that I can download a GUI program and create menus with an easy-to-use interface, and it will make source code for an interactive menu. I downloaded the program and started the video tutorial, which was clear and helpful. Six minutes into the video, I created a few menu items based on the menu I had sketched on paper. I generated the code, but it would not compile in Arduino. I changed some of the most obvious variables, but the problem seemed like deep back-end stuff, so I paused everything for the day.
