The last time I changed instruments, the synth received erratic notes with each command. I researched the protocol in the General MIDI documentation. I viewed the transmitted signals through a USB↔MIDI converter, which looked all right. I wanted to verify that I could modify every channel, but nothing worked over channel 8. I looked at my code, and I saw that there was a mistake between hexadecimal and decimal. I corrected the bug and confirmed that I could make any octave play on any channel with any instrument.
