2025-05-04 (Su) QuarterRoundWS2812BArray Soldering plate, 9 LEDs

My electronics hot plate arrived, so I tried soldering LEDs to a different board. I connected nine lights to the center and a jumper wire to the outgoing data pin. The plate did not get hot enough for the solder (Sn99.3/Cu0.7), but I supplemented it with an iron, and the combination made for reliable solder joints. I put the new lights on a different board so I could link two and confirm they could link up. I ordered more lights and a second hot plate that may get hotter but was less portable. Every test showed that my PCB design was acceptable, so I confirmed an expensive order for ten populated boards, which was expected to take considerable time. I regret not adding labels to the pluggable headers or including spring-loaded power wire inputs.
