2025-07-12 (Sa) BonfireLaserTag Weaver rail mount

One of the most common ways to attach my devices was using the Weaver rail. This rail was the most popular accessory rail for firearms, paintball, airsoft, and electric squirt guns. The dimensions were widely published, but always in imperial decimal. Converting was possible, but the drawings were intended for machinists, not 3D modeling. The important thing was knowing that the rail edges were 45° from cardinal directions when viewing the cross-section. The actual width was less important since I would make a bolt-tightened model.

When I slicing the model, I realized that I made the model to the size of the rail, but I should have made it slightly shorter so it could tighten and snug down. I used the slicing software to shorten one copy and left the other alone. The shorter fit wonderfully, but I shaved off a few millimeters from the longer, and it worked too.
