2025-08-26 (Tu) BonfireLaserTag Testing_006 Target project bull's eye

I cut up an insulated paper bag with a reflective layer on kraft paper. I made thirteen tubes with flat bottoms. The reflective faces inward to make the lights easier to see, and should still keep stray infrared out. It was a lot of work, and if I had to make more, I would wrap the cups in aluminum tape instead. After I assembled all the cups, I tested them and saw that the detectors were sensitive enough to pick up any nearby signal. I needed to keep the cups far apart, so I could only fit five onto the plastic lid of my laser tag bin. They worked remarkably well, and I doubt anyone will be disappointed that there is not a massive outer ring, except me. I may construct a PVC structure to hold more lights in the future. 2032 coin cell batteries powered the first ones, but I intend to add wires and power them with USB.
