The screen footprint has been wrong for a long time, and I was ready to revise it. An idea struck me while I considered the best method to model it correctly the first time. I drafted the part in a 2D CAD program so I could move features more intuitively than with OpenSCAD. The most significant advantage was that I could measure the distance between holes and edges by using a caliper. Once I had a footprint that looked correct, I printed it at 1:1 scale and held the paper next to a screen to confirm its accuracy. I added dimensions that originated from the screen's center and a second copy where I measured from the lower left screw hole.
I scrapped the old screen mount and started fresh. I did not want to include the angle-changing feature since the flat screen made the most sense. I made a module for the screen footprint, and it looked identical to my drawing, so I was excited that I got it right this time. The infrared receivers will get mounted on the sides since I have lots of unused space under the screen. The plan is to mount standoffs to the bottom level, then sandwich the screen between it and the top so the top fasteners hold the lid and screen in place.
