2025-09-28 (Su) BonfireLaserTag IR Rx model holder

Holding the infrared receivers was a problem. I put square holes in the screen mount, but I never had a definite method to keep them in place. I thought about using aluminum tape on the backside. It would block any stray emissions from the rear, it was inexpensive, and I had plenty in stock. The most significant problem was that the adhesive was strong enough to mar the surface, but not strong enough to resist a sharp jab, and it was not reusable. I opted to design a simple holder that would secure the receivers through tension. The square cups should slide over the receivers and keep them in place with friction.

The first print did not have the arched tops, so it was flexible. When I installed it, the mount bowed because it had to contend with how far the components stuck out. I had planned to allow some flexibility to prevent rattling, but the bowing was so extreme that the receivers were held at an angle. I revised the second version to be three millimeters shorter, but that version fit sloppily. The third version was a winner because I shortened the cross-members by one millimeter instead of three. I also brought back the domed tops for rigidity.
The first version was too long
