2025-10-02 (Th) BonfireLaserTag IR receiver repair

The two issues left on the NERF tagger were the trigger and the unresponsive infrared receivers. I desoldered the data pin from one receiver and placed an LED across the terminals. The LED illuminated when I blasted the receiver with a remote, so it worked. When I tested the microcontroller pin with the LED, it partially lit up and became brighter when I triggered it with the remote. I pulled the controller of my prototyping board and put the LED back, but it was dark, so the problem was not the demo board. I added the pinMode() command to my Arduino sketch, but since it did not change anything, I removed it. Next, I desoldered the prototype board joint, or nearly so, because the system suddenly responded to infrared signals. I believe a short occurred between the TX pin and the adjacent one, causing the partially illuminated LED to output a high signal continuously. I brushed the area with a plastic brush and sealed the board back into the pipe.
