2026-03-31 (Tu) VictorianLightPiano Octave 3 protoboard

Two of the octaves were finished, so I started on the last PCB. I placed the right-angle header sockets on two sides and soldered them in place. Unlike the previous boards, I added a single long female header under the demo boards instead of chopping a long strip in half. It was easier to install, but it blocked the center aisle and required more plastic. I wired the first right-angle header as an input, then the second, but after wiring the second, I remembered I only needed an input since this would be the last in the series. When I added the bent data pins from the demo board to the header to the IO expanders, I tried two methods, but the technique that worked best was to cut myself some long leads, place them in the socket, then lower the board onto the pins so they bent as I pushed it into the socket. Now I am ready to wire the inputs and outputs.
