Fred was launching a Kickstarter campaign for the fourth book in his Fisticuffs comic series and proposed a double feature with The Hustler (1961) and its sequel, The Color of Money (1986). Fred had a lot of love for the movies: The Hustler because it was a classic movie, and The Color of Money because it was a Scorsese film. Amanda and I did our homework. We listened to the first audiobook while driving to LA, which was approximately the same timeframe, and Amanda read the synopsis for the second book. After all our extracurricular diligence, our hotel internet failed us miserably, and we struggled to connect to the stream until we throttled ourselves to voice-only.
