I kept notes on my Grindfest 2026 talk for a few days, then compiled them into a document. I have been dredging up my knowledge of hearing, speakers, amplifiers, music theory, and technology. I am writing a talk sprinkled with interesting trivia, helpful facts, and observations to help someone make their next sound-producing project as effective as possible. I have a few demonstrations planned to make memorable points, like demonstrating how it is easier to pinpoint white noise than a pure tone by moving a couple of sound sources throughout the room.
