2026-05-26 (Tu) SimpleEarplugs Talk draft

I drafted a sign for my Grindfest talk called "Ears Are Weird." The original title was "Ears are Fucking Weird," which was true, but it did not fit on the sign as neatly. I drew the ear with a couple of SPLINE commands and just tried to make it look close enough, but one of my talking points was that ears look odd and they are all different, so while I did not love the image, I let it go because it was clearly a human ear. I made a copy of the drawing to add shading by enclosing areas and filling them with a HATCH pattern, slanted lines in this case.

I created a poster by buying inexpensive white cardboard and loading it into my vinyl cutter/pen plotter. The paper was 22" x 28" (56cm x 71cm), which was large enough for a sign at eye-level. The lines may be too thin for a sign this size, but I am delighted with a poster that costs less than $ 1 USD.
