2026-07-04 (Sa) EWC_Mobile Knob modeling

I wanted a printed knob that was easy to operate from the top with two or three fingers, and that formed a hemisphere with cylinders carved into its sides. The shape was easy to conceive, and I am certain I have seen it used elsewhere, but getting the proportions to look right took the most time. I added a variable to round the sharp edges, but the rendering took more than 10 minutes, so I did not include it in the animation below. The shaft at the bottom should fit by friction, but I may have to add a slop factor to loosen it a bit. I am delighted with the final look and pleased with the rounded top that should make it easy to store in a bag without snagging.
