I revised the switch enclosure with a deeper cavity and a teardrop-shaped button cover. The most challenging model was the tang, which interfaced between the blades and the handle. The basic configuration was a cylinder that fit in the pipe/handle, and a spacer that sat between the aluminum plates/blades.
I adjusted and printed the parts, separating the switch conductors from the tang, which I modified to include captive nuts to secure the external switch. I added slopFactor because the blades did not fit the first tang print.
The internal switch piece became the electrical spine of the project. The high-voltage wires are attached to the side so they connect with the blades. The low-voltage wires pass underneath after connecting with the embedded brass nuts. It may be smart to replace the stranded high-voltage wires with a couple of thick solid conductors.
I developed a two-part button enclosure print: a blue bezel that covered a 12x12mm tactile switch and incorporated elastic to seal the edges, and a green outer shell that holds everything in place. This setup should minimize dust and allow easy disassembly to shake off debris. A thin material like latex balloons will work better than thicker options, which could interfere with switch operation.
The new switch enclosure has two parts. I started with the internal section designed for a 12x12mm switch and two metallic spacers for conductivity. I'll need to adjust the final model since I didn't have the exact dimensions for the switches or standoffs.
Scream 7 was a stinker. We all agreed. We spent most of the show unpacking our disgust and talking about how a franchise could stray so far from the original intent of subverting the genre with things like developed characters and an unknown killer, but eventually became the tropes and stayed in that rut.
