2025-08-04 (M) Critical Affection: The Cat Returns

We talked about cats! The movie was The Cat Returns, a Studio Ghibli movie from 2002. We started the show by promoting Sarah's Kickstarter campaign for Produce Cats. Sarah encountered some technical difficulties, and we brainstormed other formats and cats we would love to see. Amanda suggested the awesome name "Purrfect Produce." After the promotion, we talked about the movie, which we agreed was enjoyable, but it had plot flaws too egregious to ignore. The main character needed some smoothing to make her believable, and we discussed the timeline leading up to the movie, which explained some of the rough edges.
