2025-08-14 (Th) BonfireLaserTag Blinkenlights

The final hardware I needed to test was the LED ring. I used the FastLED library, which has worked well for me in the past. I ran the sample program to confirm I had it wired correctly, and it successfully illuminated the twelve lights. The LEDs face forward, so I wanted a sci-fi gun movement from the lights and tried to write a "Double Cylon," which had two lights moving in opposite directions around the circle. It looked fine when it ran fast, but I dropped it in favor of a rotating cross. When I press the trigger, all the lights come on as the same color for a moment, then return to the spinning animation. I plan to make a semi-opaque cover to dampen the lights.
