2026-02-23 (M) Critical Affection: Cherry 2000

Cherry 2000 (1988) might have been the worst movie we reviewed. We saw movies with much lower budgets, but this movie had significant funding, and it did not show. I appreciated the scenery and costumes, but the plot, writing, and direction were subpar. If we gauged this movie on the same field as the late-night skin flick, it would stand up adequately as just another misogynistic time waster. Funny enough, this was the first sci-fi appearance for a few actors who went on to other big roles.
