I printed the new tang and internal switch, but they would not match up. The pieces were too tight, and if I could get them together, it would be a nightmare getting them apart. I could have changed the slopFactor variable whenever I rendered the two pieces, but it would have been lazy coding to expect someone to make those changes between renderings. I updated the code so I could include the different numbers whenever I called the function. The internal switch module had two rendering modes: one that produced it as intended, and a stripped-out version I used to subtract from the tang model. The simplified model did not include features like the wire grooves, but I could also “inflate” it a bit with a variable in the function call. I printed a tang without the blades to ensure it would fit, and it mated smoothly.
