My personal life has been getting out of control. My wife and I are moving from a despicable apartment complex into a Bay Area house, and the process has been abysmal. Between house hunting and the impending move, I am putting the blog on temporary hiatus. I will try to do some instruction writing when I have a few minutes, and keep printing parts and stockpiling them for the upcoming instructions. I expect this to go into next month, so two or three weeks.
I dealt with various challenges while working on the electric knives, including printing the wrong tang model and filament issues with the TPU printer due to a malfunctioning fan, which I replaced after swapping out the connector.
I made a new blade module with revised TPU sheaths and a PLA tang. I used red and gold and unintentionally made the Iron Man color combo. The new design works well, as I could shock my arm, but the spark still happens inside the handle.
The TPU sheath prints were consistently failing, even after I placed a fan on the workspace. I created new G-code files to print each half separately and started using PLA for smaller mechanisms like the switch and power components.
The next movie for Critical Affection will be "The Silence of the Lambs," and I've created an easy and enjoyable quiz in response to previous criticism of my quizzes. While watching the film, I noted down questions and checked them for accuracy afterward when transferring them to Blooket. I believe this quiz matches the film's quality, and people will have fun.
The Silence of the Lambs was one of Fred's favorite movies, not just in the horror category, but that did not stop Amanda from picking out the problems. Fred was quick to defend. After the show, he was so worried that he stepped on Amanda's toes and apologized for his hair-trigger, but Laurie Calcaterra and I enjoyed watching the two.
